Meet Your Workout Programmer
Stephanie Walker, the owner of SFBC and programmer of every single workout, programs customizable strength and conditioning workouts based on her understanding of the needs of each one of her clients. After transforming her own life through fitness and wellness and then spending over ten years helping others in her community do the same, she has built the SFBC workouts by using tried and tested exercise methods that have worked for her and her clients.
What to expect:
The format of a bootcamp class starts out with a group warm-up. After about ten minutes of light movement and stretching, strength exercises are introduced. These strength exercises range from using resistance bands to dumbbells and kettlebells–sometimes even pull-up work (if it’s a goal of the client), and most always abdominal work accompanies the strength exercises. After the strength portion of class is finished, all bootcamp workouts end with a metabolic conditioning workout–an interval based cardio workout designed to burn fat and boost metabolism which takes anywhere from 10-30 minutes to complete.

How it works:
Burn Fat: Each StrongFigure Bootcamp workout burns roughly 600+ calories by utilizing the HIIT (high intensity interval training) method in order to maximize calorie burn throughout the day. HIIT increases your muscles’ ability to burn fat for energy, helps you to shed unwanted body fat, and also helps improve your overall quality of life.
Build Muscle: StrongFigure Bootcamp uses both strength training plus high intensity interval training, which not only builds lean muscle but research shows that such proper training improves insulin sensitivity in the muscles, which helps your body to better process and absorb nutrients from the food you eat. The same research found that HIIT increases your muscles’ ability to burn fat for energy. Lean muscle not only looks good and helps you to shed unwanted body fat but lean muscle also helps improve your overall quality of life.
Boost Metabolism: One session of our high intensity training can increase your metabolic rate for up to 48 hours and study after study shows that this type of training improves overall metabolic health. A healthy metabolism is critical to reach your weight loss goals.
Gain Energy: Our style of training will improve your metabolic health and improve your insulin sensitivity, which means you will have more energy. The muscles learn to use glucose for energy instead of storing sugars as body fat. You will feel better, become leaner, and grow stronger with effective interval training.
A Typical StrongFigure Bootcamp Workout:
3×8 Seated Dumbbell Presses (upper body work)
Superset with 3x :30 Hollow Hold (abdominal work)
14:00 AMRAP (As Many Rounds as Possible)
3 Dumbbell or Kettlebell Cleans
6 Dumbbell or Kettlebell Front Squats
9 Lateral Jump Burpees (over your weights)
12 Kettlebell Swings
After spending roughly 10 minutes on strength work, participants move on to a 14-Minute total body, metabolism boosting, fat burning, interval-based workout. With the clock running, members push themselves at their own pace with their own selected weights to accomplish 3 cleans (moving the weight from the floor to the shoulders), followed by 6 squats with the same weights on the shoulders, followed by 9 burpees where participants jump over the weights (instead of the traditional jumping up), and finishing the round with 12 kettlebell swings.
We Modify and Customize Every Single Workout
Because every single person who walks through our door is different, the great thing about our workouts is that we can customize each workout to best fit the needs of our clients. Some people don’t perform jumping movements well, and that’s ok! We can sub out an exercise such as slam balls instead of burpees. Others come in feeling they aren’t quite ready for weight training yet so we modify by using body-weight exercises. In the photo here, SFBC member Nichole asked if she could try the cleans and squats with a barbell, so we customized the workout so that she could best challenge herself.
